Born in linz in 1940, lives and works in Vienna. Devotes herself, among other things, to video environments, digital photography, installations, body performances, motion pictures, experimental and documentary films, expanded cinema, conceptual photography, body-material interactions, object art, and sculpture. Since 1968, she has appeared in international solo presentations and participated in international art exhibitions at the centre Pompidou in Paris, the MoMa in new York, the institute of contemporary arts in london, the Biennale di Venezia, the documenta in Kassel, the Moca in los angeles, the stedelijk Museum in amsterdam, the MuMoK and the Generali Foundation in Vienna, the P.s.1 contemporary art center in new York, the shanghai art Museum, the Palais des Beaux-arts in Brussels, tate Modern in london, the Metropolitan Museum of art in seoul, the Metropolitan Museum in new York, ars electronica in linz, a.o. Made her appearance in a number of international film festivals (London Film Festival, Filmex in Los angeles, international film festivals of Berlin, Cannes, Montreal, Vancouver, San Francisco, Locarno, hong Kong, Sydney, New York, etc.) and is represented in the collections of major museums (centre Pompidou, tate Modern, Museo nacional centro de arte Reina sofía, MoMa, Moca, etc.).
