Born in Kötschach-Mauthen, carinthia in 1956; lives and works in Vienna. Studied at the academy of Fine arts Vienna under Ferdinand Welz and Joannis avramidis between 1975 and 1981. solo exhibitions staged at the MaK – austrian Museum of applied arts in Vienna (2010), the Galerie andreas huber in Vienna (2007), the Galerie im taxispalais in Innsbruck (2006), the National Museum of contemporary art in Bucharest (2006), the Bunkier sztuki in Krakow (2005), the Museum of contemporary art Leipzig (2005), the BaK – basis voor actuele kunst in utrecht (2003), and the contemporary art center in Vilnius (2002). Participated in such internationally renowned group exhibitions as Manifesta 3 (2000) in Ljubljana and the Biennale di Venezia (2001 and 2003), as well as in the film festivals of Locarno (2002 and 2008), london (2009), Mar del Plata (2007), Melbourne (2001), Oberhausen (2006 and 2009), Rotterdam (2000), and Toronto (2006 and 2009).
