„Wake Up Early, Fear Death“

Philipp Kaiser was curator at the Museum for Contemporary Art in Basel (2001–2007). Since spring 2007 he has worked as Senior Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles (MOCA). 2012–2014 he was director of Museum Ludwig in Cologne. He has organized exhibitions with works by Louise Lawler, Christian Philipp Müller, Simon Starling, Johanna Billing, Bruce Nauman, Jack Goldstein, and Oscar Tuazon, and curated vast thematic exhibitions, such as “Flashback. A Revision of Art of the 1980s” (Basel, 2005), “Index—Conceptualism in California” (L. A., 2008), “Ends of the Earth: Land Art to 1974” (L. A. and Munich, 2012), together with co-curator Miwon Kwon, and “Not Yet Titled” (Cologne, 2013), an exhibition displaying the Ludwig Collection.
