Born in Baden by Wien in 1970, lives and works in Vienna. From 1990 to 2000 working as an eldercare nurse.
Studied Fashion Design under Raf Simons at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and Textual Sculpture under Heimo Zobernig at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
Guest professor at the University of Art and Design Linz. Currently Senior Artist at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
Recent exhibitions include the Lentos Museum (Linz, 2020), and the Lyon Art Biennale 2019 (together with Ashley Hans Scheirl).
She has curated museum collections along with her own works at the MUMOK Vienna in 2017, and upcoming in 2021 at the Musée d’art et d’Histoire, Geneva.
In 2021 Jakob Lena Knebl will represent Austria at the Venice Biennale together with Ashley Hans Scheirl.
