Studied at the Warsaw art academy under Grzegorz Kowalski between 1988 and 1993. Received the Vincent van Gogh Biennial award for contemporary art in europe donated by the Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht in 2004. Public projects, such as Bródno (2000) in Warsaw, Weronika (2001) in amden, and Unsichtbar [Invisible] (2002) in Berlin. numerous individual exhibitions since 1993, including presentations at the Basel Kunsthalle (1997) and the Museum of contemporary art in chicago (2001). Recent projects and one-man shows include Au Centre Pompidou at the centre Pompidou in Paris (2006), Black Market at neugerriemschneider (2007) in Berlin, One of Many at the Fondazione nicola trussardi in Milan, Pawel Althamer and Others at the Vienna secession (2009), and Frühling [Spring] at the Kunsthalle Fridericianum in Kassel (2009). Participated in internationally renowned group exhibitions, such as documenta X (1997) in Kassel, Manifesta 3 (2000) in ljubljana, the 50th Biennale di Venezia (2003), the 4th Berlin Biennale (2006), and Sculpture Projects Muenster (2007).
