Julie Boukobza is Head of the Luma Arles residency program since 2017 and an independent curator and art critic based in Paris.
Julie Boukobza curated "A Painting Lesson" with Jamian Juliano-Villani at les Beaux Arts in 2024 "Decade of Emotion" in 2023 with Anthea Hamilton and "Tendre-sur-Estime" in 2022 with Michae Dean as part of "Pourquoi Paris?", her new curatorial project which consist of inviting renowned international artists during Paris Art Basel to private and public institutions. In May 2022, she co- curated with Julia Morandeira Arrizabalaga the group exhibition "Myriad Reflector" at CA2M in Madrid. In 2021, she curated the group exhibitions "Kolé Sere" at Braunsfelder Family Collection in Cologne, Germany and "Wear the Right Thing" at the Virginia Commonwealth University gallery in Doha, Qatar. In 2020, she curated the solo exhibition "The End" of the artist Michael Dean at Converso in Milan, Italy. Between 2018 and 2019, she co-founded an artist-run space in Paris, France with the curator Stephanie Moisdon and the artist Matthew Lutz-Kinoy. In 2017, she co- curated with the Swiss Institute a group show at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, Serbia called "FADE IN 2 EXT. MODERNIST HOME". In 2016, she curated the group exhibition "Pure Fiction" at Marian Goodman gallery and a solo show of Peter Shire at New Galerie, both in
Paris, France.
